About Us

Richard B. Souder Masonry Inc. was founded in 1977 by Richard B. Souder. He learned the masonry trade in Albany, Oregon. He started as a laborer working his way toward becoming a mason. He returned to Pennsylvania and worked for several local contractors before deciding to start out on his own, focusing on good quality work and customer satisfaction.
Over the years, the company has experienced signifcant growth. Our work has changed from primarily residential work to commercial buildings including businesses, churches, banks, schools and industrial buildings. In over 27 years, we have compiled an impressive list of projects we have completed. You may view some of the projects we have completed by going to the "projects" section of our website.

At this time, we currently have 30 employees working in our organization. We do work throughout South-Eastern Pennsylvania. We are based out of Telford, PA, but have explanded to take on jobs in from Allentown to Philadelphia.

We keep up with the newest technologies in the masonry world. We have new technologies including hydraulic scaffolding (bennu), Pettibone and JCB All Terrain Forklifts, The Grout Hog©, and the Mud Hog©. This equipment helps cut down the amount of physical work the crew has to perform. We also have advanced computer programs to ease the tasks of equipment maintenance, estimating, and project management.

Our masons are highly trained individuals who know the significance of quality work. We have an appretice program which shows our trainees the importance of completing quality work and how to maintain a higher level of workmanship. Our in house apprentice program includes class time as well as hands-on training in our shop in Telford. Our training classes are instructed by our operations manager, Sam Myers. Our training program now is solely for RBSM employees, but we are in the beginning stages of starting a masonry technical school for anyone who would like to learn the masonry trade. We will happily employ current students as laborers and aprentices in our company until they have completed the training program. You can continue to work your way up into the mason position as you continue to work and train with RBSM.
